Peter Callahan was born and raised in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. A high school dropout, he drove a taxi for several years before returning to school, eventually earning a Master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. His feature, “Against the Current”, had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009 and won jury prizes at the AFI Dallas Film Festival, The Williamstown Film Festival, and The Verona Film Festival in Italy. Distributed by IFC Films, it stars Joseph Fiennes, Justin Kirk, Elizabeth Reaser, Michelle Trachtenberg, and Mary Tyler Moore. His first feature, “Last Ball”, was the only U.S. film selected for the 2001 San Sebastian Film Festival new director’s section and won several awards around the world. “Out and About” is his first acting role.
